AEP Projects

AEP believes in grassroots work and is currently focusing its work in one community called Shikoswe District in Kafue, Zambia. In Kafue:
- AEP runs a Community Youth Center with School support in English, Math,
educational and literacy programs in addition to a library and a computer lab.

- AEP sponsors HIV/AIDS orphans by paying school tuition. Read

- AEP has donated over 20,000 books and 70 computers to several schools and communities.
Completed Projects:
2009:
- January: AEP volunteers finalized the 2009 school
year sponsorship recipients: 85 students in Grade 8 through 12 and 10 students
in College
2008:
- October: AEP volunteers interviewed over 100 sponsorship applicants
for the 2009 school year
- July: A team of 4 AEP volunteers traveled to Zambia to organize academic
and HIV/AIDS awareness programs for the members of the center and to finish
categorizing the library
- January: AEP volunteer traveled to Zambia to finalize the 2008 school
year sponsorship recipients: 65 students in Grade 8 through 12 and 7 students
in College
- January: AEP started the Breakfast Club serving approximately 50 meals
each school day to the AEP Scholarship recipients
2007:
- August: The Amos Youth Centre moved to a larger facility located a few
block to the previous one
- August: Third container arrived in Kafue and its contents distributed
- July: AEP volunteers traveled to Zambia to work at the Amos Youth Centre
and supervise the implementation of its educational programs
- May: AEP volunteers traveled to Zambia to work at the Amos Youth Centre
and at the Bethel Orphanage
- May: Shipped container with over 8,000 books and 45 computers for the Amos Youth Centre and Kafue communities
- April: AEP volunteer traveled to Zambia to work at the Amos Youth Centre
and at the Bethel Orphanage
- January: AEP volunteer traveled to Zambia to finalize the "Fall 2006 Sponsorship" campaign
- AEP Granted 25 Scholarships to HIV/AIDS orphans
- AEP volunteer interviewed each scholarship recipient to gather feedback and
testimonials
2006:
- July: AEP volunteers traveled to Zambia
- Opened the Amos'
Youth Centre in Kafue, Zambia
- Finished distribution of schoolbooks sent in 2005
- Established special HIV/AIDS awareness programs for children in Amos' Youth Centre (ongoing sponsorship)
- Awarded first AEP College Financial Aid Award
- June: Shipped container with over 7,000 books and 20 computers for the Kafue communities
2005:
- July: AEP volunteers traveled to Zambia
- Met with the community in Kafue and evaluated the educational system and the students' situation and needs
- May: Shipped the first AEP container with over 6,000 books and 10 computers
